I’m really falling for these gravel-crunching guys! Roc is half human, half Khargal. Circumstances prevented him from learning about all things Khargal, although he learned about his clan’s special abilities. When he meets Meline in his quest to find his Sire’s sigil, he couldn’t resist the temptation. I like that she is not a stunning beauty, and is a bit of a klutz. Meline is quite a woman! Even though she is being followed, she handles the situation well. She takes the astonishing reveal of his true form without falling apart. And, she is just as protective of Roc as he is of her. Surrounded by danger, Roc does all within his power to keep her safe, including some things of which he’s not even aware. This is a love story that transcends species. Such excellent reading!
He's looking for his father and she's looking for ancestors. They end up finding out their looking for the same thing and are connected. Evil hunts them down he finds where his father been sleeping and she remembers where the charm they need to return to the home planet.
We were introduced to Roc in the previous book in this series GRAVEL and GRIT , the story about Zarek and his mate Mira . Geez', what a rollercoaster that was !! And this one was as well in its own way !In this book Roc is in the procurement business . Meaning he is a glorified art thief . As a hybrid Khargal, he has many traits of his Sire including the horns and tail , wings and the ability to turn into stone. He has learned from his friend that the Khargals have activated the beacon, and all Khargals will be rescued. Only problem is that his Sire has been buried for a very , very long time , and the building he was buried in is being demolished. So he has to find his father AND collect his Sigil ! Kind of hard to do , since he is not entirely sure where his father is exactly!!Meline is the great , great relation to a famous builder, where Ric's Father is supposedly at the foot of his building . She unknowingly has information that Roc needs in order to find his father. As Roc over hears this information, he decided to help her , help him .If only it were that simple !!!This story was exciting and witty and funny. I am looking forward to reading more about these KHARGALS 😀😀😀
This is sound advice. I've read every book this author has written (on kindle unlimited) and have enjoyed each one incredibly. I like her so much, I've bought a few to read and re-read!! She always writes this amazing blend of wonderfully fithly erotica, and heartwarming love and romance. It says in her bio she's only a part-time author... I have literally messaged her and BEGGED for her to go full-time i love her writing so much. Anyways, onto this book.Told in DPOV. Great characters, that u quickly develop a repore with. It's fairly fast paced, and I can't help but fall in love with the H\h; both of whom are incredibly strong, with very relatable weaknesses and doubts. It's wonderful to see such great characters grow and develops with, and because of, each other.As always, Mizz West never disappoints on the steamy side of things! As a fair warning, there are definitely elements of bondage, but it never seems to be over done, and most importantly, ur never left wondering how either character feels. She always let's u know how much the heroine enjoys it, and most importantly (in my opinion) how much the H cares for the h. Not just in his head either... She tends to be very good about having the H express himself IN WORDS to the h, which is kinda a big deal for me. she's also great about not pushing the bounds too far into what ppl might consider abuse, unlike some authors.I can highly recommend both t his author, AND this book.AS WELL AS ANY SHE'S EVER WRITTEN!!!!Can we please start a campaign to have wrote full time??? Who wants to join me?!?
This was a great addition to this series. I love how each author keeps their own voice while still making the stories feel intermingled and carry a similar feel. This story was great with plenty of how and downs. Roc was hot and crafty and had plenty of his own issues to deal with. His struggle with being stuck between two societies and how that affected him was described well. And while Meline didn't ask some questions I feel like I probably would have all her reactions were still realistic without being over dramatic. She has her own issues too but she was able to grow through them and become stronger. And once again the tail may have been one of my favorite parts. Excitingly good book filled with sci-fi , romance , action and suspense; would recommend.
I am loving the Khargals. Each story is unique and Hard as Rock is no exception. It has humor, great gargoyle sex and a lot of action. Roc was born on earth to Petronus and a human mother. Meline goes on vacation with her grandfather's journal looking for answers. And of course the Rose Syndicate is watching their every move and trying to get the sigil. I thoroughly enjoyed Roc and Meline's story.
I have been waiting for this series for a while, I even clean up my KU account, so I have enough space to get all the books at once!Binge time!So… back to the book at hand.A thousand years ago the Khargals crash landed on earth; soon after the crash, they realized that their Sigil or beacon was not working, they were stranded. Fast forward to current times, the Sigils have mysteriously activated, after all this time rescue in on his way!! There is only one problem, Roc’s father, one of the original Khargals stranded on earth has retreated to his Duramna or stone form after Roc’s mother’s died during childbirth, and his Sigil is nowhere to be found. The time is ticking, if Roc cannot find the Sigil on time, it will auto-destruct. In his quest to find the Sigil, Roc discovers Meline, the descendant of one his father human friend.And that my friend is how this adventure starts 😊 This book has everything I love, is fast-paced, great sex, full of action romance with a smart kick-ass heroine that knows how to get s**t done. I had a s**t eating grin the whole time I was reading this book.Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
